Chainsmokers keep rising, smoking hit after hit

Recently the hit Dance-Pop-EDM Duo, Chainsmokers, founded by Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart, gave us a look inside the making of their song “Somebody”. It’s just a quick preview of how they get the creative juices flowing and they will be releasing a more in depth look soon.

When it comes to creating a hit song these two know what they’re doing. The duo debuted their first EP Bouquet in 2015, and in a little over 3 years they’ve already had 5 songs reach the top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100–with “Closer” landing in the #1 spot.

But don’t think that Billboard has been the only organization to recognize the Chainsmokers. They’ve also received a Grammy for Best Dance Recording, 2 American Music Awards, and 5 iHeart Radio Music Awards.

They make what they do look easy but their backgrounds have also conditioned them for success. Alex Pall used to work at an art gallery in Chelsea, Manhattan and studied art history and music business at New York University. And Andrew Taggart was an intern at interscope records and studied at Syracuse University.

If you’re solely focused on your craft your work can die without ever being seen. But if you overly focus on marketing and business the quality of your craft will suffer and nothing will keep it afloat. They have a great mix of artistic & musical awareness coupled with business knowledge & practical industry experience that is sure to keep them in the spot light for a long time.

Keep your ears open for what the duo has coming up. Last march the Chainsmokers released the audio track for their new song “Everybody Hates Me”. The video on youtube was released just 2 months ago and it already has more than 25 million views. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKPCBAlDw2A
